Hello

Wood Farm is in Waresley, a picturesque village between Bedford and Cambridge.  Our Great Grandparents started farming here in 1948.

In 1996 Charles and his Dad (John) decided to try their hand at free range egg production. After a steep learning curve and many funny episodes they fell in love with the business. In 2009 Charles and Jo became the fourth generation family to farm and decided to pack and sell their eggs directly to the customer.

All of our hens are kept under the RSPCA Assured and BEIC Lion Code farm assurance and food labelling schemes. These standards are underpinned by our own unique on-farm standards for quality control, hygiene, traceability and bird welfare. This ensures that not only are our eggs produced to the very highest standards but also the welfare standards of the hens are far higher than required.

As a company we are committed to reducing our impact on the environment. In 2013, we installed a 50 kWh solar system providing approximately 50% of our total energy requirements. As we mainly produce and pack on the farm we greatly reduce our 'food miles'. We make every possible effort to employ local people and use local suppliers for all our packaging and transport requirements. Likewise, we try and ensure we only use Recyclable materials where possible helping us to produce some of the 'greenest' eggs you can find.
